I refuse to ruin my fond memory of Richard Yates's novel by watching Leonardo DiCaprio in a movie, which makes me feel like I'm watching someone put mayonaise on steak. He disturbs my innards. What Martin Scorcese sees in him is beyond my comprehension.
Born and raised in New york City (when the World was young), a graduate of Bard College; after a brief stint in law school, I spent 25 years in the radio station
business; following acceptance on the waiting list for a heart transplant, I became a novelist; my heart transplant
was accomplished in January 2006.
